OUR BLOG

Last summer friends, my husband and I embarked on a West Coast motorcycle adventure.  We wanted to see all sorts of wonders, both natural and manmade, that the United States has to offer. On our list of must-see places was the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park in California.

Specifically, we wanted to see General Sherman, a giant sequoia that is the largest known living single stem tree on Earth (by volume).  When the day came for us to don our leather motorcycle jackets and ride to the park, we could not contain our excitement.  General Sherman did not disappoint.  We channeled Ansel Adams and took an astounding number of photographs that are now framed and hanging on our living room wall.

As part of their West Coast adventure, a couple of our friends paid a visit to Yosemite National Park.  In addition to being avid bikers, they are avid rock climbers.  Yosemite is well-known for its boulders as well as El Capitan.  They didn’t need too much cycle gear to get them to the park, so they had plenty of room for their climbing shoes and ropes.

They camped out at Camp 4 which became known post-World War II as a rock climber hang-out.  The first two days they spent bouldering, including scrambling on the Columbia Boulder.  Later on they climbed The Nose, one of the original climbing routes of El Capitan.  Tina chose to hang back as her ankle was hurting, but she got some fantastic photos from the ground.  Check out the view.

My nephew always considered himself somewhat of a lone wolf, so a motorcycle always seemed like an appropriate personal conveyance.  In the last couple of months, however, he begun seeing someone, and she was less than enthused about the prospects of riding on the back of his bike.  Conversely, he  was none too excited about being seen driving around in her purple PT Cruiser either.

In order to reconcile this transportation quandary, he decided to search for some motorcycle accessories to make her feel a bit more comfortable.  After doing some investigating, he found a great device known as a "Butt Buffer" along with a few other things.  Not only the items provide her with a comfortable rear end, but they also afforded extra support and security.

Road rash and flesh wounds can be prevented by wearing leather motorcycle chaps.  Sizing can vary by manufacturer, so it is important to know your measurements.  To properly size motorcycle chaps you need a pair of jeans, a tape measure, and a notepad.

Start by putting on a pair of jeans that you would normally wear for riding, as leather motorcycle chaps are meant to be worn on top of jeans.  Next, measure your waist, your thigh at its largest point, and your inseam (all in inches).  Note these measurements in your notepad and compare your numbers to the numbers listed by the manufacturer to determine which size chaps are best for your body.

While some people scoff at wearing a helmet, anyone who has been in an accident would say that wearing a helmet is essential.  The truth is that helmets save lives, even if they don’t look all that fashionable.  Whether you’re riding a bicycle around the neighborhood or riding your motorcycle down the highway, a helmet is necessary for safety.  Not wearing a helmet can result in not just a citation from a law enforcement official, but also extreme trauma or damage to the head.   Just like wearing a seat belt is essential in a car, a helmet is essential for bikes, motorcycles, and ATVs.   Motorcycle helmets are now more advanced and more comfortable than their predecessors.  But no matter what kind of motorized vehicle you’re using, it’s important to wear a helmet.

Despite jabs at being unfashionable, most helmet models are streamlined and aerodynamic . In addition, you can find a wealth of different helmets that feature cool decals.  There’s always one to suit an individual’s style!

The past few weeks there’s been a new motorcycle insurance commercial running during various sporting events and it’s caught my attention.  An unmanned motorcycle is seen crashing in slow motion and the voiceover in the background is saying something to the effect of “motorcycles never crash alone.”  As a habitual motorcyclist, I have to say this advert hit pretty close to home.

I mean, even if you are covered by insurance, that’s no solace to your body during a crash.  In my opinion, one of the best insurance policies for any motorcyclist is a high-quality set of motorcycle gear.  Not only do a leather motorcycle jacket, motorcycle vests and graphically enhanced helmet look amazing, they can prevent serious damage during a spill as well.

The adrenaline rush of riding the motorcycle is just one of the aspects that make the experience unique.  Riding on the back of a bike will be a memorable moment for any child.  Although this heart-pounding thrill ride will be exhilarating, you want to be sure that everyone is safe.

Normal biker gear isn’t designed for children, so it is important to make sure that you have equipment that fits your child properly.  Kid’s motorcycle riding jackets are an essential, not only for warmth, but also in case of a spill as well.  Before you put you kid on the back of the bike, make sure you’ve taken all the measures to ensure their safety.

With all the technological advancements to cell phones of late, it seems like more than half the people on the road are using a Bluetooth headset while driving.   While having a Bluetooth headset might be practical for a drive, for a motorcyclist who wears a helmet, a standard bluetooth headset can become quite uncomfortable, and in most cases is impractical at best.   However, motorcyclists shouldn’t be left out of the latest technology trends, which is why the Bluetooth motorcycle helmet headset was developed.  This headset is designed for use with a motorcycle helmet, and allows motorcyclists to speak on their cell phones while riding.   These Bluetooth motorcycle helmet headsets are great for long trips or short trips, and are a must have for motorcyclists.

Some of the reason to own a motorcycle is to feel free from the constraints of a traditional automobile and also feel independent.   But for those circumstances when you just have to have a conversation, a Bluetooth helmets motorcycle is an excellent option!

Last summer a friend of ours purchased his first motorcycle, and it has not only been a thrill for his wife but for the entire family.  At first his wife was little hesitant to hop on the back - now she begs him to take her for rides.  Their oldest son also is constantly hounding him to take him for leisure trips as well.

Although he is more than comfortable on my motorcycle, I was reluctant to let me oldest heir on.  After some contemplation, they decided that it would be ok. Of course they took all of the necessary precautions, like buying him a well-fit helmet and his own kids motor cycle riding gear.

When riding a bike, it is important that you keep yourself protected from the dust and grime.  You must wear protective clothing gear, such as motorcycle chaps, to prevent dust, grime, and sand from accumulating on your clothes, particularly your pants.  They also protect you from the cold weather.  In addition, a pair of chaps can also be an added protection in cases of motorcycle falls.

Most chaps are made of leather.  Leather is a versatile material and is very durable.  That is why it is quite popular in motorcycle outfits.  Some chaps are made with the combination of leather and spandex for a more comfortable fit.  Other protective gears that a bike rider must have are, of course, a durable helmet, a pair of gloves, and a jacket make for essential cyclegear.

When we first started riding motorcycles in the early ’70s, we were really only concerned about looking cool.  We never wore a helmet and rode with only a light t-shirt on.  Luckily we were never involved in an accident, and now we"ve learned to tone down our "devil may care" lifestyle.
Now that we're grandparents, we know we need to be a responsible role models for the little ones. Although we still ride my hog whenever we can, we now have a full supply of motorcycle safety gear.  It certainly took some getting used to, but with the amazing innovations in unique motorcycle helmets and other protective equipment, I’m more comfortable than I’ve ever been before.

8/12/2011 - Fashionable Motorcycle Jackets

Look fashionable all the time while you’re zipping down the road or simply hanging out with your rider friends.  One of the best outfits for riders like you are stylish motorcycle jackets made of quality natural leather.   This one pictured is made from premium split cowhide leather and some are studded with durable metal hardware.

Many of these discount motorcycle leather jackets have removable liners to make them easy to clean.  Select from a wide range of designs for men and women.  They come in various colors, textures and style options.  Some are also offered in durable Buffalo leather.

08/10/2011 - PINK MOTORCYCLE GEAR IS ADDED TO OUR LINE!

Pink motorcycle gear will set you apart.  You still have the protection of leather, but you have added some excitement to your look as well.

Be sure to browse the pink selection that we have to offer.  We are hoping that it will be a good addition and we hope you enjoy it.

08/09/2011 - HALLOWEEN MOTORCYCLE GANG

One year for Halloween my son wanted to dress up as a motorcycle gang member.  He talked all of his friends into doing the same thing.  The problem was that we were having a really interesting fall that year and it was still pretty warm out.  Anything leather was going to be hot, especially if it was a jacket.

We decided to get a leather motorcycle vest instead of a jacket.  It was light weight and still had that motorcycle gang feel to it.  The vest, along with the bandana on his head and the big boots made him really look the part the part.  All the kids looked great and had a good time.

08/08/2011 - A VERY VERSITILE PIECE OF CLOTHING

In the world of fashion, few things make quite as bold a statement as leather.  A heavy and dark material, it doesn’t matter if it comes in the form of a jacket or a miniskirt.  Designers have used this knowledge for years to create daring and bold looks.  But if you’re looking to incorporate leather into your everyday fashion repertoire, make sure that it’s not overdone.  With that bold of a look, it’s best to wear just one accent piece.

For this reason, a men’s leather vest can be a surprisingly versatile thing to have in your closet.  Not only will it prove useful if you’re ever cruising around on your motorcycle, but it will also serve as a great accent to any outfit.  For a casual look, pair it with jeans.  And for a more eclectic look, pair the edgy look of leather with a more formal outfit.  However you wear it, leather can help you make that bold statement, so make sure your closet isn’t completely devoid of leather.

08/06/2011 - NOT JUST FOR THE MOTORCYCLE RIDER

Women like to look fashionable.  It doesn’t matter what project or activity that they are doing.  If you’re a tom boy or a high fashionista, you are always conscience of what you look like.  Styles come and go over the years.

One of the styles that have not gone anywhere is womens leather vests.  Leather vests are not only for the motorcyclist.  All women may wear leather vests to work as well as for casual attire.  You can dress vests up as well as dress them down.

08/05/2011 - A MOTHER AND HER MID-LIFE CRISIS

My mother had a very strange mid life crisis.  She decided to buy a motorcycle. She wanted the wind in her hair.  I told her to get a scooter, but that wasn’t happening.  She always wanted a motorcycle.

I wanted to make sure that she was fully prepared for her new venture.  I really wanted to make sure that she had all the right type of gear.  Safety was a concern of mine.  Her concern was looking good.  We went online and typed in motorcycle gear and found quit a bit of things.  Cool stuff for her and still safety gear, so I wouldn’t worry as much.

08/02/2011 - TENNIS SHOES ARE NOT AN OPTION

If you are choosing to ride a motorcycle, safety plays a huge factor.  It doesn’t matter if you are on the freeway or down a dirt road.  There is no reason why you should not be completely prepared.  It doesn’t matter if you are a new rider or have been riding for years.

Motorcycle riding boots are not an option that you can ignore.  Tennis shoes don’t give you the protection that boots do. They can easily slip off if you are in an accident.  Boots also help to keep your ankle in place preventing dislocation of your ankle.

07/26/2011 - A SUMMER ADVENTURE

Now that summer is almost here, many motorcycle enthusiasts are taking full advantage of the warm days that are especially favorable to riding.  One of the best ways to get the most out of the summer season is to attempt a cross-country cycle journey.  The road trip has been a part of American lore for decades, and it has become a rite of passage for most motorcyclists.

The first step in planning such a trip involves logistics.  Where will you be staying, how much will fuel cost, what is your final destination, etc. Try to schedule the trip so that you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the landscape – the American Southwest is particularly conducive to a great biking experience.  Finally, make sure you bring along some motorcycle saddlebags, as you’ll want to have easy access to your personal belongings.

07/24/2011 - MOTORCYCLE RAIN GEAR

If you plan on riding in wet weather, it’s important to have the proper motorcycle gear.  You need to account for decreased traction and visibility.  As dorky as it may seem, brightly colored vests or jackets are a good idea; they make a rider more visible to other motorists, particularly cars.

Wet clothing can also be a hazardous distraction.  Proper motorcycle gear for rainy days includes a full face helmet and motorcycle riding boots.  You’ll also want a sturdy motorcycle jacket, pants, and gloves.  Each of the aforementioned items should be well-insulated to keep out the rain so your skin stays dry.

07/22/2011 - LADIES, FITTING IN IS NO LONGER A PRIORITY

As a woman, pursuing riding won't always be easy.  Riding motorcycles has traditionally been considered a man’s game, but always be eager to accept a challenge and shatter a few glass ceilings if need be.  Buy a Harley (my local dealership, Anaheim/Fullerton Harley will be glad to help you choose the one that fits you - I'm sure most any dealership would be).  Start riding around town and then with friends as you meet them.  You might catch some initial flak.  You might  even be asked why you are not riding in a sidecar!

Over time, however, the guys will start to accept you as one of them.  Buy a good women’s motorcycle jacket and maybe even take a cross-country road trip this summer.  Nothing appeals to the senses more than the wide-open road ahead of you and vast expanses of scenic country flying by on all sides.  You will get to the point that you hardly care what the men think of you.  All that matters is that you are living life on your own terms.

07/20/2011 - DISPLAYING COLORS

Motorcyclists are a multi-faceted group. There are so many different sub-cultures associated with riding. One such sub-group is motorcycle riding clubs. These clubs have their own uniform of sorts called colors.

Colors refers to the motorcycle vest as well as the patches that adorn it. The vest is adorned with club-specific patches, usually located in the middle of the back. The patch or patches will display the club logo, name, and the letters MC. Sometimes patches will also identify a state, province, or other regional insignia. The colors belong to the club, not the individual, and it is considered an act of disgrace to allow colors to fall into the hands of an outsider or rival group.

07/18/2011 - MOTORCYCLE STYLES FOR THE STARS

Paris Fashion Week this year was from March 1st to the 9th.  Paris is the last of the Big 4 fashion weeks. The other four are New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and Milan Fashion Week.  All sorts of celebrities come out of the woodwork to attend these events.

This year, the always colorful Kanye West showed up in colorful motorcycle garb.  Over a plain grey t-shirt, West wore a bright red motorcycle jacket.  The leather was accented with gold hardware.  Setting fashion trends is something West is known for, so I wouldn’t be surprised if motorcycle jackets became a main stream fashion fad this year.

07/16/2011 - GIFTS FOR BIKERS

The holidays are upon us and the time we have to get our shopping done is quickly running out.  If you’re anything like me then you have a long list of people to shop for.  With the traffic, the crowds and the long lines you’re probably not looking forward to it.  Luckily, though, thanks to lower shipping costs and faster delivery times it’s now more affordable and convenient than ever to get al of our shopping done online.

Cycle gear is no exception.  I have a lot of bikers on my list and I know that if I try to go to a cycle shop or other retailer I’m bound to face dwindling inventories and aggressive customers and employees.  I don’t much care for the holiday hustle and bustle so I think I’ll do as much shopping online as possible.  Most of the time, I’m able to find something online that’s substantially more affordable than traditional retail.  This means that I get to avoid the crowds and I save money.

07/14/2011 - FASHION YOUTH REVOLT

Last month, Tommy Hilfiger unveiled his Men’s Fall 2011 clothing line.  The collection was designed to combine elements of boarding schools and Brooklyn clubs.  This mix of prep and indie is a far cry from the more traditional suits that Hilfiger is known for.

What I liked best about the collection was the mixing of soft with hard edge. There was definitely a focus on men’s motorcycle jackets.   The hard edge and rebellion paired with preppy separates is pure genius.  It will be interesting to see if other designers start copying motorcycle chic in their own collections.

07/12/2011 - AVOID NOVELTY HELMETS

Were you aware that there is a nationwide Department of Transportation law requiring helmets to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218?  In summary, the standard, enacted in 1974, states “This standard establishes minimum performance requirements for helmets designed for use by motorcyclists and other motor vehicle users.  The purpose of this standard is to reduce deaths and injuries to motorcyclists and other motor vehicle users resulting from head impacts.”

Novelty helmets and beanies do not meet the standard.  In some states, like Maryland, wearing a non-certified helmet is punishable by fine.   Remember, your safety is a lot more important than some half-baked, ornamental brain bucket.  Do yourself and your loved ones who ride a favor by only purchasing and wearing certified motorcycle helmets.

07/10/2011 - DOT APPROVED HELMETS

The first motorcycle helmet was reported to have been introduced in 1953. Safety agencies throughout the years have lobbied for mandatory helmet laws.  In 1961 the world’s first mandatory motorcycle helmet law was introduced.  After that, safety agencies really got into the act.  In 1966 the American National Safety Standard for Motorcycle Helmets was introduced, requiring performance standards for helmets that manufacturers were obligated to meet.  Every helmet has to have a DOT-approved sticker inside.

There are different styles of helmets to choose from.  Full-face helmets cover the entire head.  Many full-face helmets have vents to increase airflow to the rider.  Off-road helmets have an elongated chin and visor portions, a chin bar, and partially open face to give the rider extra protection while wearing goggles.  Modular helmets are a hybrid of a full-face and open-face helmet and are used for street bikes.  Open-face helmets cover the ears, cheeks, and back of the head.  Outlaw motorcycle helmets are an American brand, they are half helmets.  They have a lighter feel to them as well.  Whatever helmet you choose, make sure that is DOT-approved.

07/08/2011 - HARNESS BOOTS

Motorcycle boots haven’t always been a staple of riding; there is photographic evidence that early riders wore whatever they wanted, or had at the time, on their feet.  The switch to boots was a natural progression as riding can leave you susceptible to many foot injuries.  Harness boots are a popular style among riders.

Harness boots are similar to engineer boots, but the harness boots are made from heavy weight leather.  Typically, harness motorcycle boots range in height between 10 and 18 inches, though some get as tall as 38 inches.  These boots do an incredible job of protecting the rider from the heat of exhaust pipes and engine block.  The foot and leg are protected from injury by steel toe caps and metal shank in the heel.

07/06/2011 - RIDING IN COMFORT

When I purchased a Harley last summer, I quickly became the envy of all of my friends. Throughout the summer months they were constantly asking me to try it out, but I would only sate them by letting them ride on the back. While I don’t mind showing my friends some hospitality, having someone constantly holding onto you and literally riding your back can get wearisome.

I didn’t want to disregard the desire of my friends to ride my bike, so I looked around for means of making the ride more comfortable for them and myself. The first line of business was to install a sissy bar to the back of the bike so they could have some extra support. Then I went out and invested in some motorcycle gear of varying sizes for all of my buddies. This made them more comfortable during the rides and eased some of my worries as well.

07/04/2011 - LEARNING ABOUT MOTORCYCLE CHAPS

When A friend of mine first started riding, he used to wear leather pants and leather jackets.  He found that whenever he got to his destination, the pants that had kept him warm and protected on the road, quickly overheated and stuck to his skin off the bike.   We suggested he try motorcycle chaps as an alternative.   When we first said the word chaps he immediately thought of the Christina Aguilera video where she parades around a boxing ring in chaps.  We gave him an inquisitive look and after we finished laughing at him for listening to pop music we explained what motorcycle chaps are.

A quality pair of motorcycle chaps will protect you from road rash just as well as a pair of leather riding pants.  The difference being that motorcycle chaps fit over your pants and can be removed when you get to your destination. When picking out a pair of chaps you just have to be careful to leave enough room for your pants, particularly around the thighs.  Now, he wears his motorcycle chaps whenever he rides, and when he gets to his destination he just takes them off and throws them in his pack.  No more overheating for this guy!

07/02/2011 - BE SAFE ON YOUR BIKE

Riding a motorcycle has long been associated with being a rebel. Just because you’re a little rebellious in your choice of ride doesn’t mean you should rebel against basic safety precautions.  Before you go out riding, make sure you have the right motorcycle safety gear.

There are three major things to consider when picking out motorcycle safety gear.  First, you need to protect your head.  Head trauma can lead to irreversible brain damage and/or death, so choose a high quality helmet, not just any old brain bucket.  Next, avoid road rash by wearing tough materials like leather that covers your arms, legs, and hands.  Finally, wear goggles or protective sunglasses.  There’s no way you’ll be able to see well if your eyes are constantly tearing up from the wind and dust being kicked up in your face.  Follow these few simple guidelines before you go off on your ride.

06/30/2011 - TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE PERFECT BIKER VEST

Look the part of the rugged biker who’s always ready to hit the road.  A leather vest is a nice addition to any biker’s wardrobe.  It is very stylish such that you can also use it for an evening out aside from wearing it on the road.  During the blazing summer months, a vest is a nice respite from a cumbersome jacket. Leather vests can perfectly complement just about any motorcycle wear outfit.

Look for high quality motorcycle leather vests manufactured from premium split cowhide leather, buffalo leather or goat-skin leather. These are durable fabrics that will give you years of faithful service.  Not only is the exterior of the vest important, the lining is crucial as well.  Make sure to pick a vest with comfortable fabric on the inside, and look for vests with removable liners for easy cleaning.

06/28/2011 - SWITCHING TO TWO WHEELS

Due to soaring fuel prices and environmental concerns, a motorcycle can really do the trick.  For the most part, you have to love the advantages to riding a bike.  You could be saving hundreds a month on gas and cutting down on your commute time by accessing the carpool lane.  And, of course, it’s much more fun to ride a bike with the wind in your face than sitting in a confined cube on wheels.

The one main drawback to the motorcycle has been transporting goods around.  For large items, you can usually ask one of your friends to help you out, but even going to the grocery store posed a problem.  To solve this problem, just invest in a set of motorcycle saddlebags so that you have extra storage space for whatever you need to carry.

06/26/2011 - MIX IT UP WITH BROWN LEATHER

It’s most common to see motorcyclists wearing all black leather motorcycle riding gear.  It’s classic, easy to take care of and matches everything.  Brown leather gear is not quite as common, but it could be a nice change if you are looking for a new jacket, vest, chaps or gloves.  You’ll stand out in this unique look that is more reminiscent of the old West than modern day riding.

Brown motorcycle jackets may also keep you cooler, since the brown color won’t absorb as much sun radiation as black.  You can also find brown leather gear that is made out of water buffalo hide rather than cowhide.  Buffalo hide is super durable and one of the thickest, most abrasion-resistant leathers available.  With no synthetic surface finishes, your brown buffalo gear will even breathe better when you get hot on the open road.

06/24/2011 - A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MOTORCYCLE JACKET

Back in the early days of motorcycling (circa 1920′s), some of the very first motorcycle jackets were actually military or aviator style jackets with buttons down the front and a short collar, sometimes referred to as a ‘mandarin collar’ characteristic of the era.  Many of the popular styles were constructed of brown goatskin leather and were of a short design with a fitted waist, similar to the pre-WWII Army Air Corps jackets.   Another popular material for these early jackets was horsehide.  This thick, tough leather was in plentiful supply due to the Army Cavalry and many farmers, who used horses as work animals prior to the widespread availability of tractors, supplying these hides to the clothing industry.

The first company to market these was The Schott Bros. who began producing the legendary ‘Perfecto’ jacket in 1928.  They were soon joined by The Joseph Buegeleisen Company, in Chicago, who started out in 1933 making motorcycle saddlebags and accessories.  They then began making motorcycle jackets in the 1940′s, these were commonly known as ‘Buco’ jackets.

06/22/2011 - PROPER CARE FOR MOTORCYCLE JACKETS

If you make an investment in a really nice motorcycle jacket, you’re going to want to keep that jacket in the best possible condition.  The following are some easy tips to keep that leather jacket looking brand new.

-Do some work beforehand.  When you get the jacket home, apply a basic waterproof and conditioning treatment. This extra step will mean you won’t have to worry so much about stepping outside in the rain.  And with this treatment, you can add years to the jacket’s life.

-Treat wear and cracks right away. Loose edges can easily be treated with a small amount of rubber cement.  If you merely have worn spots, another quick solution is beeswax and mink oil.  As an added bonus, this concoction helps stem potential stains.

-Switch to the big guns.  If your leather jacket really needs work, you might have to switch to a more professional level treatment.  There are plenty on the market, including brands such as Lexol and Snow-Proof.

-Become friendly with a tailor.  If your jacket suffers a serious rip or wear spot, no amount of product can restore it to its previous state.   In this case, call up your local tailor and see what he/she can do for you.  You’d be surprised at the wonders a creative tailor can do for your clothing.

06/20/2011 - LEATHER MOTOR JACKETS

Bike riders know that they cannot just get on their bikes and go for a ride.  Because they are exposed to the wind, dust, pollution, and sun, they have to make efforts to shield themselves from these hazards. That is why most bike riders are seen wearing leather motorcycle jackets.  These jackets are not just worn to look cool and handsome; they are actually worn with a purpose.

The jackets protect the riders from the cold weather. They also protect them from dust particles and other pollutants when on the road.   Leather is a favorite jacket material because it gets better as it ages.  Leather is also durable and waterproof.  An excellent reason why they are so popular among motorcycle enthusiasts.

06/18/2011 - WHY LEATHER

Leather possesses the uncanny ability to resist a wide variety of conditions. It is notoriously good at taking a beating without losing its innate resilience.  From wind and rain to debris and more, you can throw just about anything at leather without destroying it.  This makes it the ideal material for durable protective clothing.  What’s more, it’s popularity as a durable material means products made with leather are also very stylish.

Because of the protection, comfort and style that leather provides, leather motorcycle jackets are popular among more than just bikers.  Because they last for so long, leather jackets are often highly prized possessions.   Since their comfort never fades and their popularity goes on unabated, they make the perfect style choice for anyone who wants a coat that will last for a long time to come.

06/16/2011 - PROTECTION AND COMFORT

It goes without saying that the most critical piece of motorcycle safety gear is the helmet. After you’ve found effective protection for your head, however, it’s time to think about the rest of your body.  Leather motorcycle chaps are practical as well as stylish, and they can save your frame from experiencing some serious wear and tear following a spill.

The best chaps blend durability with comfort.  Riding in stiff chaps can cause discomfort; no one wants to suffer from chap-induced chafing.   Bear in mind that leather chaps are made to last longer than any other specific type.  Like any leather garment, chaps require a certain level of basic maintenance and upkeep.  By cleaning your chaps on occasion, you can vastly improve their usefulness.

06/14/2011 - HISTORY OF MOTORCYCLES

The first mode of transportation to be called a motorcycle and the first series production of motorcycles came about in the year 1894.  Then, the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world was Indian, producing 20,000 bikes per year.  By 1920, the honor went to Harley Davidson as their motorcycles were sold by dealers in 67 countries.  Today, the motorcycle industry is mainly dominated by Japanese companies such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha.

Along with the development of newer models of motorcycles throughout the decades, the development of accessories for your motorcycles has emerged as well.  Motorcycle accessories can be almost anything, for example, like the fairing, which is the plastic or fiberglass shells covering parts of the motorcycle to a sidecar.  A sidecar turns a motorcycle into a three-wheeled vehicle.   Panniers, also known as saddlebags, are popular as well. You can accessorize your motorcycle as if you were accessorizing your car.
